With one in every five Canadians personally experiencing a mental illness, employers are understandably concerned about the impact of mental health on employees and the workplace. If unmanaged, mental health issues can lead to increased employee turn-over and short-and long-term disability claims, while exposing the employer to legal sanctions for discrimination or failing to accommodate employees.
